And just in case someone isn’t sure

It’s a bird! It’s a plane!!

It’s SAFETY DOG!!!!!!
OK, let’s just get it out of the way right now and admit that I’m slightly obsessed with our dog.  I’ve always loved dogs, I waited what feels like forever to get one and now that he’s with us and he’s such a good dog, I just go a little crazy sometimes.
So, it’s [...]

Happy Thanksgiving

Hard to believe it’s that time of year again.  Seems like just yesterday we were driving home with our skunk sprayed dog after leaving last Thanksgiving.
I have a lot to be thankful for this year.  It’s nice to be sitting in our new house with my husband, in our gorgeous kitchen, currently making candy as [...]

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow ….

The Winter has officially arrived in Mt. Gilead.  I don’t know exactly how much snow fell in Columbus today, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t anything like what we got in the highlands ….

Sam is excited … he’s a real snow dog, and we’re glad to see some snow on the ground so he stays [...]

First Snow

Well, we’ve had snow flakes before today, even a slight accumulation but this is the first morning I’ve awoken to snow on the ground, which is my definition of first snow.
Nothing major, about 1/4 inch.  ‘Tis the season.  Traffic was a mess for no reason at all.  Can’t wait for the real snow and the [...]

Economic crisis hits close

Today started as normal as ever, but soon the dreaded “I noticed so-and-so packing a box” started at the office, which means layoffs.  Again.
This time it was corporate wide in a business of about 3000 people.  They laid off 10% best I could gather.  Funny things about corporations, they don’t like to tell their employees [...]

Stupid Browns

I swear, when are they going to learn that it’s the COACH that needs replacing, not the players.  Well, other than Edwards maybe.  He could sit the bench for the rest of the year as far as I’m concerned.
Guy was at the game last night in a fancy skybox with some friends who won free [...]

Mourning

While I’m not surprised at the election outcome, I am disappointed.  Disappointed in the people that live with me in this country.  People who have willfully chosen a path to socialism because they are either uninformed, dreamers or lazy.  I’m not sure which is worse.
While I will spend the next four years praying that Obama [...]

Meat CSA

So yesterday I picked up our first share of the winter meat CSA from our local farmer.
I got a dozen eggs along with the share.  They’re so pretty… all shades of brown and beige and even a few green eggs!  We haven’t tried them yet.

Clockwise, starting at 7, we got a couple cube steaks, some thin [...]

Happy Birthday Mom!!

I hope you enjoy your day, it certainly is a lovely one.
Not much else to blog about really.  Most of my thoughts lately are politically related and I’m trying not to turn this into a political blog.  There are plenty of bloggers out there who say it much better than me, like this [...]
